Elopements are one of our favorite things to document. The quietness, thoughtfulness, and focus is so different from a traditional wedding day. The bride and groom truly experience every moment together and it provides a unique view into their lives as a couple.
Anne and Jonathan chose a Rosemary Beach elopement at The Pearl Hotel. The weather was a bit grey and it was almost intensely quiet. We arrived to see Anne getting prepped with Jamie working on her makeup. Jonathan arrived and the couple put the finishing touches on everything together.
Gary, the minister (he’s fantastic y’all), was awaiting them in the room downstairs. After a hilarious mishap involving the rings being left up in the hotel suite, these two said their sweet vows, shed a few tears, and shared a kiss. We chatted about how their anxious family members at home were waiting to hear about the day. And then we set off to make a few portraits for them to remember it all by.
Following sunset, Anne and Jonathan shared a post-wedding dinner at Havana Beach, complete with a beautiful, tiny wedding cake. The couple was invited to our studio just two days later to view their images and put together a stunning leather bound album for them to share with friends and family.
